Job Overview
Action for Nepal (AFN) is seeking a qualified and motivated Project Officer – Telehealth to support the implementation of the Telehealth Expansion and Strengthening Project in Solukhumbu District. The position is based in Phaplu and will focus on improving access to quality healthcare services for women, children, persons with disabilities, and marginalized communities through telehealth services, referral systems, and laboratory strengthening initiatives.
The selected candidate will work closely with local governments, health facilities, Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs), Health Facility Operation and Management Committees (HFOMCs), and community stakeholders to strengthen healthcare delivery in remote areas of Nepal.

Project Background
The Telehealth Expansion and Strengthening Project (July 2025 – June 2028) is funded by the Australian Himalayan Foundation (AHF) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australia. The project aims to improve healthcare access and quality in remote areas of Solukhumbu by strengthening telehealth systems, referral mechanisms, laboratory services, and community awareness.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Implementation
- Plan and implement project activities according to approved work plans and budgets.
- Conduct field visits and support project implementation in target municipalities.
- Coordinate telehealth, laboratory, and referral system strengthening activities.
- Support project assessments, surveys, and data collection activities.
- Maintain regular communication with health facilities and local stakeholders.
- Ensure activities are completed on time and according to project objectives.
Stakeholder Coordination and Partnership Management
- Build strong relationships with local governments and health institutions.
- Coordinate with municipalities, rural municipalities, health offices, HFOMCs, and FCHVs.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and coordination events.
- Collaborate with partner organizations to maximize project impact and avoid duplication.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Documentation, and Reporting
- Collect, verify, and analyze project data.
- Maintain beneficiary databases and project records.
- Prepare activity, quarterly, and progress reports.
- Conduct data quality checks and validation.
- Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Support donor and Social Welfare Council reporting requirements.
Safeguarding, GEDSI, and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and PSEAH policies.
- Promote Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) across project activities.
- Support incident reporting mechanisms and risk mitigation processes.
- Ensure confidentiality and survivor-centered approaches when handling sensitive cases.
Advocacy and Sustainability
- Advocate for the integration of telemedicine and laboratory services into local government plans.
- Support municipalities in developing telehealth action plans.
- Contribute to project sustainability and exit strategies.
Required Qualifications
Education

Bachelor’s degree in:

Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant professional experience after graduation.

- Health facility or hospital management
- Telemedicine programs

- Conducting trainings, mentoring, and community mobilization.
