About SEBAC Nepal
Founded in 1997, SEBAC Nepal is a well-established NGO working across Nepal in multiple development sectors such as:
- Public health and nutrition
- Agriculture and livelihood
- Gender equality and empowerment
- Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)
- Disaster risk reduction and climate change
Currently, SEBAC Nepal is implementing the SAFE-Girls Project in collaboration with Good Neighbors International Nepal, aiming to empower adolescent girls and young women.
Key Responsibilities of Gender Officer
1. Project Implementation
- Lead SAFE-Girls project activities at the local level
- Ensure timely and effective execution of project plans
- Coordinate with local government for integration into policies
2. Community Engagement
- Form adolescent girls’ groups and mentoring systems
- Conduct awareness programs in schools and communities
- Promote gender equality and rights
3. Training & Capacity Building
- Organize training on leadership, gender transformation, and psychological support
- Train youth leaders, volunteers, and stakeholders
4. Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with municipalities, health institutions, and schools
- Participate in coordination meetings and field visits
5. Monitoring & Reporting
- Collect and manage project data
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
- Document success stories and case studies
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this position, candidates must meet one of the following:
Option 1:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Sociology, Gender Studies, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Option 2:
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience
Required Skills
- Strong communication and coordination abilities
- Fluency in English and Nepali
- Good knowledge of MS Office tools
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Valid two-wheeler driving license
