About Organization:

Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO) is a pioneering organization in Nepal advocating simultaneously for Dalit rights and women’s rights. FEDO envisions a just, inclusive, and equitable society, placing Dalit women at the center of all its initiatives. The organization’s work focuses on economic empowerment, human rights and access to justice, leadership development, inclusive governance and social justice, and gender-responsive humanitarian assistance for Dalits, women, and other marginalized and vulnerable populations in Nepal. FEDO has an organizational presence in all 77 districts and seven provinces and actively collaborates with national and international networks and platforms working on women’s and Dalit rights.

Currently, FEDO is implementing the project “Strengthening Governance for Development and Social Justice of Dalit Women – Continuation” in partnership with Bread for the World (BfTW) in Doti, Dhanusha, and Kaski districts. In this context, FEDO invites applications from qualified, competent, creative, and highly motivated Nepali citizens for two positions to support project implementation at the local level in Kaski and Dhanusha districts.


1. District Project Coordinator

Job Type: Full Time

About Job:

The District Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing overall leadership and management of project programs and administration at the district level. The role will lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all project and organizational activities within the project district, ensuring quality, effectiveness, and accountability in line with organizational and donor requirements.

The District Project Coordinator will also ensure quality assurance in project implementation and timely, accurate reporting. The position is based at FEDO’s Kaski District Chapter, with approximately 10 percent travel outside the assigned district as required.

Key Responsibilities:

The District Project Coordinator will primarily coordinate with government bodies, formal and informal justice actors, and like-minded organizations and individuals to effectively implement project activities in the respective districts and achieve the intended results. Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Support the planning and implementation of project activities aimed at mobilizing community members, particularly Dalit women and other excluded groups, and strengthening their capacity to promote and protect the human rights of Dalit women at the local level.
  • Coordinate with local and provincial governments, human rights institutions, justice sector actors, political parties, and civil society organizations to promote accountability, responsiveness, and improved access to social justice and socio-economic rights for Dalit women.
  • Prepare district-level budget plans and track expenditures and financial transactions in close coordination and consultation with the Project Manager and Executive Director.
  • Supervise Project Assistants and provide technical guidance to support the mobilization of Dalit women’s groups, frontline women leaders, and community members.
  • Support the establishment and functioning of justice support mechanisms through community groups and frontline leaders to handle and manage cases of gender-based violence (GBV) and caste-based discrimination and untouchability (CBDU), thereby strengthening Dalit women’s access to justice.
  • Schedule and organize meetings, events, and advocacy activities, and prepare required documentation to advance the human rights of Dalit women.
  • Maintain updated records of cases of violence and discrimination and prepare evidence-based reports to support advocacy, learning, and program accountability.


Required Qualifications:

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Management, Development Studies, or an equivalent field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a senior management position within a non-profit organization
  • Experience working with Dalit- and marginalized women-led organizations or women’s rights organizations will be a strong added advantage


Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in human rights and advocacy, including engagement with advocacy forums and networks to promote and protect the rights of Dalit women and other excluded groups
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in project implementation and providing technical knowledge on laws and policies, including capacity strengthening of frontline leaders and advocates
  • Experience in designing and conducting trainings on community legal empowerment, women’s rights, and advocacy campaigns
  • Strong understanding of Nepal’s human rights situation, including the socio-economic, legal, and political context, the Dalit women’s movement, and current debates and issues
  • Competency in computer skills, particularly the Microsoft Office package
  • Fluency in spoken and written Nepali and English
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills in both English and Nepali



2. District Accountant

About Job:

The District Accountant will be responsible for providing overall financial leadership and management of the project at the district level. The role will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of financial and procurement transactions, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency throughout the project cycle.

The District Accountant will ensure full compliance with organizational financial policies and donor requirements, and maintain high standards of financial quality assurance in project implementation, documentation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative, financial, procurement, and logistics support for district-level project implementation in close coordination with the Admin and Finance Manager at FEDO Central Office.
  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of district-level financial reports for the project.
  • Collect, verify, and compile financial documents in a timely manner, prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, and submit them to the Central Office within established deadlines.
  • Prepare quarterly budget forecasts and submit fund requests to the Central Office to ensure the smooth implementation of project activities.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local partners, banks, vendors, line agencies, communities, project staff, Central Office staff, and central and district committee members to support sound financial management processes.
  • Ensure that all district project staff are oriented on financial documentation and settlement procedures, and conduct regular checks, including field monitoring visits, to ensure compliance with approved financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and regularly update the asset register, conduct physical verification of assets in line with Financial and Administrative Regulations, and ensure the accuracy of non-recurring items stock records.
  • Prepare and maintain personal files for all staff, and manage the leave system and related records in accordance with organizational policies.


Required Qualifications:

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Management with a minimum of two years of work experience in financial and accounting management within a non-profit organization, or
  • Completed Intermediate degree in Management with at least five years of relevant work experience in financial and accounting management of a non-profit organization
  • Prior experience using FAMAS Accounting Software will be considered an added advantage


Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Government of Nepal (GoN) rules, regulations, acts, and policies related to non-profit and social sector organizations, with solid knowledge of non-profit financial management practices
  • Good knowledge of budget preparation and financial reporting, including a clear understanding of applicable taxation rules and compliance requirements
  • Strong financial communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of computerized accounting systems and proficiency in office application software packages
