SLUMS TO STADIUM: Equalizing the Playing Field for Marginalized Youths through Football in Urban Slums of Nepal (Project S2S)

 

Duration: 1-Jan-2026 to Dec-2026 (With the possibility of extension)


About Organization:

Protection Nepal, in partnership with Child Nepal and the European Union Delegation to Nepal, is implementing the “Slums to Stadium (S2S)” Project under Lot 3 – Youths and Sports as a co-applicant in Bara District. The project is designed to empower marginalised youth from slum communities through structured football coaching, sports-based entrepreneurship, and the establishment of strong safeguarding and child protection systems in Bara.

Protection Nepal invites applications from qualified, committed, and motivated Nepali citizens for the following full-time positions under this project.


1. Program Officer

Duty Type: Full time

Available seat: 1

Duty Station: Bara, Kalaiya

Reports to: Project Manager


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support day-to-day implementation of project activities in line with approved work plans
  • Coordinate with lead-applicants (Child Nepal) for project implementation
  • Support the organisation of football coaching programs, youth events, and trainings
  • Monitor activity implementation and ensure timely reporting from the field level
  • Assist in the preparation of narrative reports for lead-applicant and internal reporting
  • Ensure integration of safeguarding, gender equality, and inclusion in all activities
  • Maintain project documentation, attendance records, and activity reports
  • Participate in monitoring visits and stakeholder coordination meetings
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Program Manager


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Sports Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in project implementation with NGOs or INGOs
  • Prior experience working on youth development, sports-based programs, child protection, or community development projects is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with EU-funded or other donor-funded project implementation processes is an added advantage
  • Strong organizational, coordination, communication, and report-writing skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to project districts as required
  • Fluency in Nepali with a good working knowledge of English


2. Accountant

Duty Type: Full-time

Available Seat: 1

Duty Station: Bara, Kalaiya

Reports to: Program Officer


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all project financial transactions in full compliance with EU rules and regulations
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, budgets, and financial forecasts
  • Ensure proper documentation, filing, and archiving of all financial records
  • Support internal and external audits, verifications, and financial reviews
  • Monitor partner expenditures and provide clear financial guidance and support
  • Ensure strict compliance with Child Nepal’s financial policies and EU financial standards


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management with NGOs/INGOs
  • Strong hands-on experience with EU-funded project financial rules and compliance
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced use of MS Excel
  • Close attention to detail with strong ethics and integrity


3. Facilitator

Duty Type: Full Time

Available Seats: 3

Duty Station: Bara, Kalaiya

Reports to: Program Officer / Football Coach


Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize youths from slum communities to actively participate in project activities
  • Support football coaching sessions and youth-led entrepreneurship initiatives
  • Facilitate community meetings, awareness programs, and safeguarding activities
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders, schools, and community leaders
  • Collect basic monitoring data, case information, and success stories from the field
  • Promote inclusion, gender equality, and strong child safeguarding practices in all activities

Required Qualifications: 

  • Intermediate level (10+2) education or a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) with relevant experience in social work, community development, or sports
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with marginalized or vulnerable communities
  • Prior experience in youth engagement initiatives or sports-based programs will be an added advantage
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills with the ability to work closely with diverse groups
