About Position:
The primary objective of this nursing position is to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care in close collaboration with the healthcare team at The Leprosy Mission Nepal. The role focuses on meeting patients’ clinical needs while also supporting their physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being. By delivering ethical, patient-centered nursing services, the nurse actively contributes to holistic healing and advances the organization’s vision, mission, and commitment to dignified, inclusive healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, high-quality patient care while supporting healthcare teams in the effective implementation of treatment plans.\
- Monitor patients’ health conditions, administer prescribed medications, and maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient progress.
- Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and preventive healthcare practices.
- Maintain a safe, hygienic, and patient-friendly environment by strictly following infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Keep detailed and well-organized records of nursing care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, in line with clinical standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development, training, and learning opportunities to strengthen clinical skills and nursing knowledge.
- Demonstrate empathy, compassion, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the line manager to support efficient healthcare service delivery.
Job Specification:
- PCL Nursing graduates from a recognized institution, duly registered with the Nepal Nursing Council (NMC).
- At least one year of clinical nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred, ensuring hands-on patient care exposure.
- Candidates with experience in Operating Theater (OT) Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, or Medical–Surgical Nursing will be given priority.
- Demonstrated strong clinical nursing skills, including patient assessment, medication administration, wound care, and post-treatment monitoring.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver quality patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in medical documentation and record-keeping, ensuring accurate and timely clinical reports.
- Sound knowledge of infection prevention, patient safety protocols, and hospital hygiene standards to maintain a safe care environment.
