The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal invites applications from qualified, dedicated, and service-oriented individuals for the following positions based in Dharan: Medical Centre Nurse at the Area Welfare Centre (AWC) Dharan, Shivadhara, and Residential Home Nurse at the Ram Bahadur Limbu VC Residential Home, Dharan, co-located within AWC Dharan.

1. Medical Centre Nurse (MCN)

Key Responsibilities:

The Medical Centre Nurse is responsible for delivering competent, safe, and professional primary health care services in close collaboration with other AWC clinical staff, under the guidance of the Clinical Practice Manager. The role involves working directly with clients and beneficiaries to ensure their healthcare needs, dignity, and expectations are appropriately addressed, and that The Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) delivers services in line with the agreed standards and quality of care.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or BSc Nursing with at least two years of post-qualification experience in a hospital or community health setting.
  • Alternatively, for internal promotion, candidates with PCL in Nursing and a minimum of six years of relevant work experience since qualification, including at least two years with GWT, are eligible to apply.
  • Current and unrestricted registration with the Nepal Nursing Council is mandatory.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in general nursing care and basic pharmacology are required.
  • Prior experience with I/NGOs and/or in geriatric or palliative care is highly desirable.

2. Residential Home Nurse (RH Nurse)

Key Responsibilities:

The Residential Home Nurse works as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver and maintain high professional standards of care, in line with the guidelines of The Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) and the Nepal Nursing Council. The role is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of care activities, ensuring a holistic, person-centered approach that addresses the specific nursing and overall wellbeing needs of residents within the Residential Home.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or BSc Nursing with at least two years of post-qualification experience in a hospital or community health setting.

Remunerations: 

  • Both the Medical Centre Nurse and Residential Home Nurse positions are classified as EG3L1 in GWT Nepal’s pay structure, with a basic monthly salary of NPR 72,237. For internal candidates transferring within the same level, the prevailing salary or the higher applicable rate will be applied.
  • Additional benefits and entitlements will be provided in accordance with GWT Nepal’s Standing Instructions (SI). The positions are offered on an initial three-year contract, with the possibility of extension based on organizational needs and individual performance.
