Rastriya Rojgar Prawardhan Kendra (RRPK) is a non-governmental organization established in 2004, working to develop rural communities in Nepal. Its focus areas include Health and Nutrition, Education, Child Protection, Livelihoods, Human Rights, Safe Migration, Gender and Women’s Empowerment, Good Governance, Disaster Risk Reduction, and WASH. RRPK’s mission is to improve people’s lives through economic, social, cultural, and physical transformation. The organization is currently implementing the Nutrition for Life Program in Sarlahi District in partnership with Helen Keller International Nepal.

1. Project Coordinator

About Position:

The Project Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating the effective implementation of the Nutrition for Life project in Sarlahi District. This role ensures the high-quality delivery of nutrition interventions through strong field engagement, supportive supervision, and close coordination with local government stakeholders. The Coordinator is also responsible for accurate reporting, compliance with organizational and donor requirements, and providing technical guidance, monitoring, and capacity building to ensure timely and effective execution of all planned activities.

Key Responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator leads and oversees the effective implementation of the Nutrition for Life project in Sarlahi District. The role ensures the high-quality delivery of nutrition interventions through strong field engagement, supportive supervision, and effective coordination with local government stakeholders. The Coordinator is also responsible for accurate reporting and ensuring compliance with organizational and donor requirements. In addition, the position provides technical guidance, monitoring, and capacity building support to ensure timely and successful implementation of all planned activities.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical guidance on IYCF, IMAM (MAM/SAM), and related nutrition protocols to FCHVs, health workers, and field staff.
  • Ensure project interventions are aligned with national nutrition strategies, standards, and protocols.
  • Support the high-quality implementation of both community- and facility-based nutrition activities.

Field Engagement and Support:

  • Spend at least 50% of working time each month in the field to monitor activities and supervise implementation.
  • Conduct routine visits to health facilities, covering at least 50% of OTCs and facilities each month.
  • Provide on-site support, mentoring, and problem-solving assistance to improve service delivery.

Joint Monitoring & Coordination:

  • Organize and take part in joint monitoring visits with municipal, district, provincial, and project teams.
  • Follow up on monitoring findings and ensure corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and track improvements in service delivery, referral systems, and coordination mechanisms.

Project Implementation & Delivery:

  • Plan, oversee, and ensure timely execution of project activities including screening, referral, distribution, MBFHI review, capacity-building events, and community-based interventions.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly workplans, procurement plans, and implementation checklists.
  • Ensure activities are aligned with the project log frame and donor requirements.
  • Integrate learning, feedback, and adaptive measures into implementation.

Supervision, Coaching & Capacity Building:

  • Coordinate and facilitate trainings for FCHVs, health workers, and facility staff (OTC/ITC).
  • Provide ongoing coaching during field visits to ensure effective skills transfer.
  • Monitor improvements in staff competencies and the quality of services delivered.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in community health, nutrition, or project coordination within NGO/PNGO settings.
  • Strong knowledge of IYCF, IMAM, and government health systems.
  • Experience in planning, monitoring, supervision, and capacity-building activities.
  • Possess a valid driving license and willingness to travel frequently.

2. Monitoring & Evaluation Officer:

About Position:

The M&E Officer serves as the district-level focal person for implementing the Monitoring and Evaluation functions of the Nutrition for Life project. This role ensures accurate data collection, verification, DHIS2 reporting, data quality assurance, and timely analysis to support decision-making. The M&E Officer supervises and supports Nutrition Facilitators in data collection, conducts field-level verification, leads monthly reporting, and coordinates with municipalities, health facilities, and the Helen Keller International M&E Manager. Additionally, the M&E Officer contributes to dashboard monitoring, process evaluations, and quarterly Data Quality Assessments (DQAs).

Key Responsibilities:

A. Monitoring, Evaluation, Data Quality & DHIS2 Reporting:

Data Verification and Monthly Reporting :

  • Review all data submissions from Nutrition Facilitators by the 2nd of each month to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Verify data against approved work plans, source documents, and screening registers.
  • Enter verified municipal and district-level data into the DHIS2-integrated web platform by the 5th of each month.
  • Maintain and update a district-level data verification log, including systematic backups of all datasets.

Routine Field Monitoring & Data Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct regular field visits to households, health facilities, and community events to validate data accuracy and ensure compliance with reporting protocols.
  • Perform spot-checks and cross-verification between DHIS2 entries and source documents.
  • Participate in quarterly Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) led by the Helen Keller International M&E Manager, including reviewing forms, interviewing field staff, and validating data processes.
  • Provide immediate corrective feedback and follow-up training to Nutrition Facilitators based on DQA findings.

Support to DHIS2 and Digital Platforms:

  • Ensure the proper functioning of DHIS2 and municipal reporting systems.
  • Coordinate with the team to resolve data entry errors flagged by DHIS2 validation rules.

B. Data Analysis, Reporting, and Documentation:

  • Conduct routine descriptive analyses, including trends, gaps, and performance issues, in line with monthly and quarterly review requirements.
  • Prepare district-level monitoring summaries for quarterly reviews and donor reporting.
  • Support the Helen Keller International M&E Manager in consolidating district-level data quarterly.
  • Create data visualizations, including Excel charts, DHIS2 dashboards, and maps, to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Maintain well-organized digital and physical archives of all M&E documents, including forms, reports, checklists, and DQA records.

C. Supervision, Capacity Building & Technical Support

  • Supervise, mentor, and coach Nutrition Facilitators on accurate data collection, proper use of forms, follow-up procedures, and reporting timelines.
  • Conduct orientation and refresher trainings on MEL tools, DHIS2 reporting, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure municipal and facility staff understand key indicators, definitions, and reporting processes.
  • Identify capacity gaps among field staff and implement tailored support plans.


D. Evaluation & Learning:

Process Evaluation  

  • Lead district-level data collection for process evaluations.
  • Conduct observations, focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (KIIs), individual interviews, and participant feedback surveys with FCHVs, health workers, caregivers, and other stakeholders.
  • Document implementation barriers, facilitators, service quality issues, case studies, success stories, and contextual factors.
  • Share findings during monthly and quarterly review meetings to support adaptive actions.

Learning, Adaptation, and CLA Activities


  • Support regular CLA (Collaborating, Learning & Adapting) meetings with municipalities and field teams.
  • Document lessons learned, best practices, challenges, and adaptive strategies.

E. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

Required Qualification:

Education

Essential Experience:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in M&E or data management for health or nutrition programs.
  • Hands-on experience with HMIS/DHIS2, mobile data platforms (Kobo/ODK), and government reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in data verification, MEL tool testing, and routine monitoring processes.
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to create summary tables, charts, and conduct data analysis.

3. Admin & Finance Officer

About Position:

The Admin & Finance Officer is responsible for supporting accurate financial management and efficient administrative operations at Rastriya Rojgar Prawardhan Kendra. This role ensures timely recording, reporting, and reconciliation of financial transactions, supports budgeting and audit processes, and maintains effective administrative systems in accordance with organizational policies and national regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management

  • Record, verify, and update financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational policies and national regulations.
  • Prepare vouchers, maintain ledgers, reconcile accounts, and manage cash and bank transactions.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) and submit them to management and relevant stakeholders on time.
  • Support budget preparation, monitor budgets, and track expenditures.
  • Ensure timely processing of payroll, payments to suppliers, and settlement of advances.
  • Maintain proper documentation, filing, and backups of all financial records, both digital and hard copies.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, internal controls, and statutory obligations, including TDS and tax regulations.
  • Support internal, external, and donor audits by preparing and submitting required documents promptly.
  • Utilize financial/accounting software (e.g., FAMAS or similar) to maintain up-to-date accounts.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

4. Nutrition Facilitator

About Position:

The Nutrition Facilitator will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of integrated nutrition, WASH, and social behavior change interventions at the community level. This role is key in building local capacity, mobilizing communities, and coordinating with local stakeholders to improve health and nutrition outcomes among underserved populations.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning, Implementation, and Capacity Building:

  • Support to Project and Stakeholders
  • Assist the Project Coordinator and M&E Officer in implementing Nutrition for Life interventions for Health Workers, Teachers, FCHVs, and local stakeholders.
  • Support local governments in developing and executing nutrition intervention plans aligned with Nutrition for Life and MSNP III.
  • Promotion of Health and Nutrition Practices
  • Utilize existing community contact points to promote:
  • Health Mothers’ Group meetings and Mother-to-Mother Support Groups.
  • Use of locally available nutritious foods to improve dietary diversity in complementary feeding.
  • Exclusive breastfeeding and IYCF practices through trained FCHVs, counseling materials, digital tools like ‘Mero Poshan Sathi’, and proper WASH practices.
  • Celebration of World Breastfeeding Week and milestone events during the first 1,000 days of life.
  • Strengthening FCHVs and Health Workers
  • Mobilize and support FCHVs and Health Workers to:

  • Follow up on MAM/SAM children according to IMAM protocols.
  • Support onsite coaching at therapeutic centers, program performance review meetings at birthing centers, and dissemination of digital breastfeeding content.
  • Assist in orientation sessions for project interventions and components.
  • Community Engagement and Social Norm Change
  • Engage local influencers, religious leaders, teachers, activists, child clubs, and parents to:
  • Conduct campaigns against unhealthy/ultra-processed foods.
  • Promote early initiation and exclusive breastfeeding.
  • Organize family dialogues to encourage nutrition engagement.
  • Identify and promote role models to influence social and gender norms.
  • Raise community awareness on:
  • Vitamin A supplementation for children under five and adolescent IFA.
  • Nutrition, sanitation, gender equity, and supportive male engagement in breastfeeding.

Coordination and Advocacy


Advocate for:
  • Support services such as Vitamin A supplementation, maternal and child nutrition, and promotion of dietary diversity.
  • Promote healthy nutrition practices and the inclusion of nutritious foods in school meals through coordination with local government.
  • Facilitate the inclusion of vulnerable households in Social Safety Net programs and nutrition commodity tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with Birthing Centers, Outpatient Therapeutic Centers, and public-private hospitals to strengthen service delivery.
  • Participate in the seven-step planning process and support feasibility assessments for local nutrition products.
  • Promote initiatives such as Nutrition Friendly Local Governance (NFLG).

Monitoring, Follow-Up, and Reporting (DHIS2)

  • Conduct household visits and follow-ups to ensure treatment adherence for MAM/SAM children.
  • Monitor and report on nutrition activities at health facilities, schools, OTCs, ECDs, and community events using DHIS2.
  • Track the effectiveness of community screenings and counseling using tools such as message slips.
  • Promote and support the use of digital tools, including the ‘Mero Poshan Sathi’ app and other online resources.
  • Submit timely progress reports, share success stories, and coordinate learning visits to high-performing birthing centers.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and dissemination for continuous program improvement.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by supervisors (Project Coordinator, M&E Officer, and Field Officer) or outlined in the contract.


Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education

Certification as a Staff Nurse, Health Assistant, CMA, or ANM.

Intermediate/Diploma or PCL level education with experience in community-level nutrition programming.


Experience

At least 1/2 years of field experience in health or nutrition-focused projects.


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Nepal’s grassroots health system and nutrition services.
  • Excellent community mobilization and coordination skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in using mobile applications for program activities.
