About Organization:
Mennonite Central Committee (MCC Nepal) is a non-profit organization founded in 1920, dedicated to serving vulnerable communities worldwide through relief, development, and peacebuilding initiatives. Headquartered in the US and Canada, MCC operates in over 45 countries in partnership with more than 350 local organizations. MCC has been supporting development work in Nepal since 1956 and was officially registered as an INGO with the Social Welfare Council in 2009. MCC Nepal focuses on strengthening the capacity of local partners to improve food security, livelihoods, community health, including psychosocial well-being and educational opportunities for highly marginalized communities.
About Position:
The Program Support Officer will work closely with the MCC Nepal Program team, Admin and Finance team, and country representatives to support partner organizations in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation of MCC-funded projects. This role primarily assists MCC Nepal Program staff but may also provide support to the Finance and Administration team. Additionally, the officer will offer administrative and logistical support to the Country Representative for Global Service-Learning programs, including help with recruitment, orientation, and the placement of partners and host families.
Required Qualifications:
- Commitment to the values of MCC Nepal.
- At least three years of experience in program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Experience working in an INGO environment is preferred.
- Experience working in rural areas of Nepal.
- Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Public Health, Sociology, or a related field.
Required Skills, Knowledge and competencies:
- Proven ability to build relationships with people from diverse socio-economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali.
- Competence in project design, outcome-focused planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Ability to manage and follow project budgets.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently to meet deadlines, and knows when to seek guidance.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to remote project areas, including on foot.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel.
