Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in training on study protocols, ethical guidelines, safety procedures, and digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboCollect), ensuring readiness of data collection instruments.
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders to verify households in selected Enumeration Areas (EAs), prepare household lists, and apply systematic sampling to select eligible participants.
  • Identify and interview individuals aged 18 years and above with at least Grade 8 education who have lived in the study area for a minimum of one year, using random selection within households.
  • Conduct structured interviews with household members, health workers, and key informants, including managers, in line with approved protocols and quality standards.
  • Uphold professionalism and ethical standards by ensuring informed consent, confidentiality, and respectful interaction with all participants.
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members, participate in daily briefings, and report field progress, challenges, and issues promptly.
  • Review and verify collected data for accuracy and completeness before leaving households, and revisit respondents when discrepancies are identified by the data monitoring team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of health statistics, climate and health, and Nepal’s routine health information or disease surveillance systems.
  • Relevant professional experience and local residency will be an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in field data collection, health system surveys, climate studies, or WASH research is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to remote and hard-to-reach areas.
  • Proficiency in Nepali and other local languages is an advantage.
  • Must be a Nepali citizen.
